Silver theater bag, 351.8 g, rectangular shape with rounded corners and edges; on one side, a swan motif and a garland of plants; the interior is divided into four compartments—one of which can be locked separately—with blue silk lining, hinged opening with a red glass bead clasp, and an anchor-chain handle decorated with cord. The bag is stamped with the master’s mark of Russian silversmith Ivan Khlebnikov (Иван Хлебников). The silversmith opened his Moscow workshop in 1871, where he employed approximately 200 people. The objects produced here were featured in several prestigious international exhibitions and won awards. Khlebnikov served as an official supplier to the Russian imperial court, the grand dukes, and several European monarchs. After his death, his sons continued the business, but the workshop was closed and nationalized in 1918. Khlebnikov’s works were praised for their ornate silver and enamel craftsmanship, as well as their traditional Russian style.
